In 1969 Brian Moorehead founded the Practice of Brian Moorehead and Partners in Altrincham and London.
Then,in 1972, an office was opened in Middlesbrough under the management of David Sutton.

As the business developed, in 1978 the firm of Moorehead Sutton & Laing was formed as a partnership between Brian Moorehead, David Sutton and Robert Laing under the control of senior partner David Sutton.

In 1986 David became Principal and in 2005 Managing Director of Moorehead Sutton & Laing Ltd.

Andrew Sutton joined the Board of Directors of MSL in 2006 and in 2014 he relocated to 20 Woodlands Road together with his company Propel Business Performance Improvement.
